每次游泳，约人是最麻烦的，不是你约了人吃饭，就是我出差，总之凑不到一块。所以今夏在特区报办的游泳卡到现在才游了10次。眼看10月11日就要到期了，决定一个人独自游了。
一个人游，没有同伴聊天，只好一个劲儿的游。在浅水区晃悠了1个小时，却不见累，于是鼓足勇气向深水区进攻。
说到深水区，一直都有阴影：大三时，我们经常去工大游泳馆，那时初生牛犊不怕虎，才刚学会蛙泳就跳进深水区勇猛地向泳道那端冲去，眼看快到岸了，忽然发现岸很高，抓不到安全把手，心想这下完了，小命要没了。慌乱挣扎中，一只大手抓住了我，原来是一旁的救生员——他早就发觉我不对劲了。虽然这位可敬的叔叔严肃地批评了一番，但心里真是对他感激不尽。从此以后，每次跟朋友游泳，他们邀我到深水区游，我都婉拒，除非技术比较好的跟在我后面，我才敢放心的游一道。记得有一次，我在浅水区晃，突然一个熟悉的声音叫住了我，原来是系副主任。他以老师的那种命令口吻让我去深水区游，百般无奈，只好让他跟在我后面，我在前面游，那种滋味就像晚上睡觉没有被子那样，极无安全感。

似真似假的深秋，有时候明明感觉已经是真的秋天了，可是最近几天的天气却太出乎意料，早上起来，一点凉意都没有，有的只是明显感觉皮肤在出汗，尤其是中午，真的跟夏天一般热。
可是却也奇怪，到了晚上，天气还是明显亮了下来，一下子差好几度，有点措不及防。
一段时间的忙碌过后，趁着今天相对空些，几乎算是准时下班，出了办公楼，依旧是昏按的天色，天天如此，也许这才是秋天的标志，白天很短，过了五点天就暗，更何况是六点半呢。
慢慢踱到公交站牌，凉风袭来，忽地就想念起曾经的时光，在大学校园里，也最喜欢这样的季节，似乎带点小小的伤感，在其实最无忧无虑的时光中感受的有些莫名其妙的伤感，说不出具体的内容却真实的小小的伤感着，也许这就是校园时光的特色吧。，喷码机雅芳总之于现在是无论如何也感受不了当时的小情绪。

瑞星卡卡助手误杀邮件是不是故意的

7日，一些使用瑞星卡卡助手和Outlook　Express的用户发现，邮件莫名其妙丢失。瑞星表示，瑞星公司已在互联网上公开致歉，并已对卡卡助手进行了紧急升级，请广大用户升级卡卡助手（版本号6.0.0.64）之后重启电脑，并保证不会再发生故障，但不能保证用户所丢失的数据能够完全恢复。

我是瑞星卡卡助手的用户，但庆幸的是我使用micsoft oulook而不是Outlook　Express收发邮件，所以这次我逃过一劫。虽然逃过此劫，但是我还是心有余悸。假如下 die casting aluminum die casting 次卡卡助手对outlook产生兴趣，那我将在劫难逃。

有数据说瑞星有8000万用户，此次遭受损失的用户起码在千万以上。可根据瑞星官方的说法，卡卡助手升级后不能保证用户所丢失的数据能够完全恢复。这是不是意味着瑞星在为自己的过失寻找托辞。如果所有的误杀都靠道歉就能解决，我相信类似的误杀会不断地出现。所以oil paintings 我希望能看到瑞星能及时制定一个时候补偿方案。道歉难道能替代赔偿吗？

The Chinese government has begun refunding value-added tax (VAT) and import duties on core wind power turbine parts and materials in a move to promote the development of clean energy, the Ministry of Finance announced on Wednesday.

The rebate will be backdated to Jan. 1, according to a statement posted on the ministry's website.

蜜炙前应先“炼蜜”。将石菜、少许孜然以及一些可使肉类去腥、增香的天然调料，用优质白酒提取、过滤、浓缩，再按一定比例加到蜂蜜中，然后将其加热（文火），按中药炮制法进行“炼蜜”。“炼蜜”的温度控制在巴氏消毒的温度范围内，再将经过灌洗的鹅肥肝置于“炼蜜”中进行蜜炙，然后取出烘干、包装，即可获得“蜜炙鹅肥肝”产品。

Wind machines were used for grinding grain in Persia as early as 200 B.C.. This type of machine was introduced into the Roman Empire by 250 A.D. By the 14th century Dutch windmills were in use to drain areas of the Rhine River delta. In Denmark by 1900 there were about 2500 windmills for mechanical loads such as pumps and mills, producing an estimated combined peak power of about 30 MW. The first windmill for electricity production was built in Cleveland, Ohio by Charles F Brush in 1888, and in 1908 there were 72 wind-driven electric generators from 5 kW to 25 kW. The largest machines were on 24 m (79 ft) towers with four-bladed 23 m (75 ft) diameter rotors. Around the time of World War I, American windmill makers were producing 100,000 farm windmills each year, most for water-pumping.[1] By the 1930s windmills for electricity were common on farms, mostly in the United States where distribution systems had not yet been installed. In this period, high-tensile steel was cheap, and windmills were placed atop prefabricated open steel lattice towers.

A forerunner of modern horizontal-axis wind generators was in service at Yalta, USSR in 1931. This was a 100 kW generator on a 30 m (100 ft) tower, connected to the local 6.3 kV distribution system. It was reported to have an annual capacity factor of 32 per cent, not much different from current wind machines.

The very first electricity generating windmill operated in the UK was a battery charging machine installed in 1887 by James Blyth in Scotland. Expendable mold casting is a generic classification that includes sand, plastic, shell, plaster, and investment (lost-wax technique) moldings. This method of mold die casting involves the use of temporary, nonreusable molds.

Waste molding of plaster
A durable plaster intermediate is often used as a stage toward the production of a bronze sculpture or as a pointing guide for the creation of a carved stone. With the completion of a plaster the work is more durable (if stored indoors) than a clay original which must be kept moist to avoid cracking die casting. With the low cost plaster at hand the expensive work of bronze casting or stone carving may be deferred until a prosperous patron is found, and as such work is considered to be a technical, rather than artistic processes it may even be deferred beyond the lifetime of the artist.

In waste molding die casting a simple and thin plaster mold, reinforced by sisal or burlap, is cast over the original clay mixture. When cured it is then removed from the damp clay, incidentally destroying the fine details in undercuts present in the clay, but which are now captured in the mold. The mold may then at any later time (but only once) be used to cast a plaster positive image, identical to the original clay. The surface of this “plaster” may be further refined and may be painted and waxed to resemble a finished bronze casting.

3、自动档汽车省事不省钱

自动档（又称自动变速）装备有自动控制装置，行车中可根据车速自动调整档位，无需人工操作，省去了许多换档及踏踩离合的工作。其不足之处在于价格昂贵、维修费用很高，而且使用起来比手动档车费油，因为自动变速器的动力传递是通过液压来完成的，在工作中会造成动力损失。尤其是低速行驶或堵车中走走停停时，更会增大油耗。

4、选用装配子午线轮胎的汽车

Struggling US auto parts maker Delphi Corp, whose non-core businesses have become merger targets for some Chinese firms, said it will build a new half-shaft plant in China with a local partner.
Delphi will control a 60 per cent stake in the US$40 million factory in Wuhu, East China's Anhui Province, it said in a statement. Lingyun Industrial Group, from Hebei Province, will hold the remaining 40 per cent.

The plant, the second half-shaft partnership between Delphi and Lingyun, will begin full operation in 2008, doubling the half-shaft production capacity of the US group's steering unit in China, Delphi said.

Delphi, which provides more than 40 kinds of auto parts in China, now has 11 manufacturing sites in the world's second-biggest vehicle market. The firm, which also has a technical centre in Shanghai, has invested more than US$500 million in China.

A former subsidiary of US carmaker General Motors, Delphi announced earlier this year that it aimed to sell or close non-core product lines by the end of next year to slash costs. These product lines could include brake and chassis systems, steering and wheel bearings, door modules and latches, and cockpits and instrument panels.

A slew of Chinese companies, such as the nation's top diesel engine maker Weichai Power Co and biggest auto parts producer Wanxiang Group, recently said they intend to buy some Delphi assets in the United States.

However, none of them have revealed what kind of Delphi assets they are interested in.

Jay Jiang, deputy general-manager of Delphi China Holding Co, yesterday declined to provide any details of talks between Delphi and these Chinese firms, saying: "Lots of companies in other parts of the world, such as India, are also interested."

Research discovers oldest bee, evolutionary link

Researchers at Oregon State University have discovered the oldest bee ever known, a 100 million year old specimen preserved in almost lifelike form in amber, and an important link to help explain the rapid expansion of flowering plants during that distant period.

The findings and their evolutionary significance are outlined in an article to be published this week in the journal Science.

The specimen, at least 35-45 million years older than any other known bee fossil, has given rise to a newly-named family called Melittosphecidae - insects that share some of the features of both bees and wasps. It supports the theory that pollen-dependent bees evolved from their meat-eating predecessors, the wasps.

"This is the oldest known bee we¡¯ve ever been able to identify, and it shares some of the features of wasps," said George Poinar, a professor of zoology at OSU and international expert in the study of life forms preserved in ancient amber. "But overall it¡¯s more bee than wasp, and gives us a pretty good idea of when these two types of insects were separating on their evolutionary paths."

Just as important, Poinar said, the discovery points to the mechanism that could have allowed for the rapid expansion and diversity of flowering plants around that time - the "angiosperms" that depend on some mechanism other than wind to spread their seeds. Prior to that, the world was dominated by "gymnosperms," largely conifer trees, which used wind for pollination and re-seeding.

These changes took place during the Cretaceous Period, which lasted from 65.5 million to 145.5 million years ago. The earliest angiosperms didn¡¯t really begin to spread rapidly until a little over 100 millions years ago, a time that appears to correspond with the evolution of bees seen in the new fossil.

"Flowering plants are very important in the evolution of life," Poinar said. "They can reproduce more quickly, develop more genetic diversity, spread more easily and move into new habitats. But prior to the evolution of bees they didn¡¯t have any strong mechanism to spread their pollen, only a few flies and beetles that didn¡¯t go very far."

The amber specimen Poinar studied, which came from a mine in the Hukawng Valley of northern Myanmar, has certain features that resemble wasps, such as a double spine on the middle tibia and narrow hind legs. But it also has branched hairs all over its body and other key features characteristic of pollen-spreading bees. This species, named Melittosphex burmensis, is long extinct.

"In archaeology, a lot of people look at the species Archaeopteryx, which is believed to be the first bird and was sort of half-bird, half-reptile," Poinar said. "Species such as that can be critically important in helping us to understand when evolution went in different directions. In that sense, this fossil may help us understand when wasps, which were mostly just meat-eating carnivores, turned into bees that could pollinate plants and serve a completely different biological function."

Flowering plants, among other things, account for practically all of the food plants on Earth and much of the food supply for humans and many other animal species. There are now about 20,000 species of bees, which use pollen to feed their young, and over millions of years they have created numerous physical and behavioral adaptations to make them some of Earth¡¯s most effective pollinators.

Considering its age, the bee specimen itself is in remarkable condition, showing individual hairs on undamaged portions of its thorax, legs, abdomen and head. The legs and wings are clearly visible. It¡¯s a very small bee, consistent with evidence that some of the earliest Cretaceous flowers were also quite small.

Insects trapped in amber, researchers say, often provide some of the most vivid and lifelike glimpses into the distant past. Amber is a semi-precious stone that begins as tree sap, which can ooze down and trap insects or other small things, then ultimately fossilize. It¡¯s also a natural embalming agent that can protect and display specimens in nearly perfect, three-dimensional form millions of years later.

This phenomenon has been invaluable in scientific and ecological research, and among other things, formed the scientific premise in the movie Jurassic Park, for the "dinosaur DNA" found in mosquitoes. Poinar, one of the world¡¯s experts in the study of amber, also has used it to provide a vivid re-creation of an ancient forest in the book "The Amber Forest: A Reconstruction of a Vanished World."

There is some degree of standardization of the tooling used with CNC Milling Machines and to a much lesser degree with manual milling machines.

CNC Milling machines will nearly always use SK (or ISO), CAT, BT or HSK tooling. SK tooling is the most common in Europe, while CAT tooling, sometimes called V-Flange Tooling, is the oldest variation and is probably still the most common in the USA. CAT tooling was invented by Caterpillar Inc. of Peoria, Illinois in order to standardize the tooling used on their machinery. CAT tooling comes in a range of sizes designated as CAT-30, CAT-40, CAT-50, etc. The number refers to the Association for Manufacturing Technology (formerly the National Machine Tool Builders Association (NMTB)) Taper size of the tool.

CAT-40 Toolholder

An improvement on CAT Tooling is BT Tooling, which looks very similar and can easily be confused with CAT tooling. Like CAT Tooling, BT Tooling comes in a range of sizes and uses the same NMTB body taper. However, BT tooling is symmetrical about the spindle axis, which CAT tooling is not. This gives BT tooling greater stability and balance at high speeds. One other subtle difference between these two toolholders is the thread used to hold the pull stud. CAT Tooling is all Imperial thread and BT Tooling is all Metric thread. Note that this affects the pull stud only, it does not affect the tool that they can hold, both types of tooling are sold to accept both Imperial and metric sized tools.

SK and HSK tooling, sometimes called "Hollow Shank Tooling", is much more common in Europe where it was invented than it is in the United States. It is claimed that HSK tooling is even better than BT Tooling at high speeds. The holding mechanism for HSK tooling is placed within the (hollow) body of the tool and, as spindle speed increases, it expands, gripping the tool more tightly with increasing spindle speed. There is no pull stud with this type of tooling.

The situation is quite different for manual milling machines ¡ª there is little standardization. Newer and larger manual machines usually use NMTB tooling. This tooling is somewhat similar to CAT tooling but requires a drawbar within the milling machine. Furthermore, there are a number of variations with NMTB tooling that make interchangeability troublesome.

Modern-style disc brakes first appeared on the low-volume Crosley Hotshot in 1949, although they had to be discontinued in 1950 due to design problems.[1] Chrysler's Imperial also offered a type of disc brake from 1949 through 1953, though in this instance they were enclosed with dual internal-expanding, full-circle pressure plates. Reliable modern disc brakes were developed in the UK by Dunlop and first appeared in 1953 on the Jaguar C-Type racing car. The Citroën DS of 1955, with powered inboard front disc brakes, and the 1956 Triumph TR3 were the first European production cars to feature modern disc brakes.[2] The next American production cars to be fitted with disc brakes were the 1963 Studebaker Avanti[3] (optional on other Studebaker models), standard equipment on the 1965 Rambler Marlin (optional on other AMC models), and the 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C2).

These brakes offer better stopping performance than comparable drum brakes, including resistance to "brake fade" caused by the overheating of brake components, and are able to recover quickly from immersion (wet brakes are less effective). Unlike a drum brake, the disc brake has no self-servo effect and the braking force is always proportional to the pressure placed on the braking pedal or lever.

Many early implementations for automobiles located the brakes on the inboard side of the driveshaft, near the differential, but most brakes today are located inside the wheels. (An inboard location reduces the unsprung weight and eliminates a source of heat transfer to the tires, important in Formula One racing.)

Disc brakes were most popular on sports cars when they were first introduced, since these vehicles are more demanding about brake performance. These sensors plus the two additional APGS sensors are tied to a central computer processor, which in turn is integrated with the backup camera system to provide the driver parking information.

When the Intuitive Park Assist feature is used, the processor(s) calculate steering angle data which are displayed on the navigation/camera touchscreen along with obstacle information. The Advanced Parking Guidance System expands on this capability and is accessible when the vehicle is shifted to reverse (which automatically activates the backup camera). When in reverse, the backup camera screen features APGS buttons which can be used to activate automated parking procedures. An engine brake is a braking system used primarily on semi-trucks or other large vehicles that modifies engine valve operation to use engine compression to slow the vehicle. They are also known as compression release engine brakes.

When the accelerator is released on a truck, its forward momentum continues to turn the crankshaft and compress air inside the engine's cylinders. When the crankshaft passes the top-dead-center position, the compressed air in the cylinder acts as a spring and pushes the piston back down the cylinder, returning the energy to the crankshaft and pushing the truck forward. Little of the energy absorbed by compressing the air is lost, so the engine does not effectively aid in slowing the truck. Of equal importance, even with zero accelerator input, there will be some trace introduction of diesel fuel (make and model dependant) which will still undergo combustion. Any power created from this will hinder efforts to decelerate. In a gasoline engine, some engine braking is provided during closed-throttle operation due to the work required to maintain intake manifold vacuum, the balance coming from internal friction of the engine itself. Diesel engines, however, are unthrottled and hence do not provide engine braking from throttling losses. A compression release engine brake uses an extra lobe on the camshaft to open a second exhaust valve at the top of the compression stroke. The stem of this valve telescopes during normal operation so the valve remains closed, but is locked at full length by a solenoid when the engine brake is engaged so that the valve opens as directed by the cam. This releases the compressed air in the cylinder preventing it from returning its energy back to the piston and accordingly, the vehicle.

The driver controls consist of an on/off switch and, sometimes, a multi-position switch that controls the number of cylinders on which the brake is active. When the compression release engine brake is turned on, it will activate when the driver releases the accelerator. There are also switches on the clutch and accelerator pedals that will deactivate the compression brake when the clutch is disengaged or the accelerator is pressed.

Compression release engine brakes may make a loud chattering or machine gun noise while being used, which has led many communities to ban them. There are signs on the side of some freeway offramps, or at municipal boundaries, that will say "No jake braking", "Engine brakes restricted", etc. These signs are referring to compression release engine brakes. This has led to special mufflers on trucks that also muffle the sound of the compression release engine brake. A fluid coupling is a hydrodynamic device used to transmit rotating mechanical power. It has been used in automobile transmissions as an alternative to a mechanical clutch. A fluid coupling is a sealed chamber containing two similarly shaped toroids facing components,impeller and turbine, immersed in fluid (usually oil). The driving impeller, often referred to as the pump or driving torus (the latter a General Motors automotive term), is rotated by the prime mover, which is typically an internal combustion engine or electric motor. The motion of the pump's radial chambers imparts a relatively complex centripetal motion to the fluid. Simplified, this is a centrifugal force that throws the oil outwards. The moving fluid reaches the casing and the enclosed shape forces the flow in the direction of the driven impeller, referred to as the turbine or driven torus (the latter also a General Motors term). Here, the Coriolis force reaction transfers the angular fluid momentum outward and across, applying torque to the turbine, thus causing it to rotate in the same direction as the pump. The fluid leaving the centre of the turbine returns to the pump, where the cycle repeats.

There are many different vehicle clutch designs but most are based on one or more friction discs, pressed tightly together or against a flywheel using springs. The friction material varies in composition depending on whether the clutch is dry or wet, and on other considerations. Friction discs once contained asbestos, but this has been largely eliminated. Clutches found in heavy duty applications such as trucks and competition cars use ceramic clutches that have a greatly increased friction coefficient, however these have a "grabby" action and are unsuitable for road cars. The spring pressure is released when the clutch pedal is depressed thus either pushing or pulling the diaphragm of the pressure plate, depending on type, and the friction plate is released and allowed to rotate freely.

When engaging the clutch, the engine speed may need to be increased from idle, using the manual throttle, so that the engine does not stall (although in most cars, especially diesels, there is enough power at idling speed that the car can move. This requires fine control of the clutch). However, raising the engine speed too high while engaging the clutch will cause excessive clutch plate wear. Engaging the clutch abruptly when the engine is turning at high speed causes a harsh, jerky start. This kind of start is desired in drag racing and other competitions, however.

Wet and dry clutches

A 'wet clutch' is immersed in a cooling lubricating fluid, which also keeps the surfaces clean and gives smoother performance and longer life. Wet clutches, however, tend to lose some energy to the liquid. A 'dry clutch', as the name implies, is not bathed in fluid. Since the surfaces of a wet clutch can be slippery (as with a motorcycle clutch bathed in engine oil), stacking multiple clutch disks can compensate for slippage.

Clutch operation in automobiles

In a car the clutch is operated by the left-most pedal using hydraulics or a cable connection from the pedal to the clutch mechanism. Even though the clutch may physically be located very close to the pedal, such remote means of actuation are necessary to eliminate the effect of slight engine movement, engine mountings being flexible by design. With a rigid mechanical linkage, smooth engagement would be near-impossible, because engine movement inevitably occurs as the drive is "taken up". No pressure on the pedal means that the clutch plates are engaged (driving), while depressing the pedal disengages the clutch plates, allowing the driver to shift gears or coast.

A manual transmission contains cogs for selecting gears. These cogs have matching teeth, called dog teeth, which means that the rotation speeds of the two parts have to match for engagement. This speed matching is achieved by a secondary clutch called a synchronizer, a device that uses frictional contact to bring the two parts to the same speed, and a locking mechanism called a blocker ring to prevent engagement of the teeth (full movement of the shift lever into gear) until the speeds are synchronized.

Non-powertrain clutches in automobiles

There are other clutches found in a car. For example, a belt-driven engine cooling fan may have a clutch that is heat-activated. The driving and driven elements are separated by a silicone-based fluid. When the temperature is low, the fluid is thin and so the clutch slips. When the temperature is high, the fluid thickens, causing the fan to spin. There are also electronically engaged clutches (such as for an Air conditioning compressor) that use magnetic force to lock the pulley and compressor together.

Clutch operation in motorcycles

On most motorcycles, the clutch is operated by the clutch lever, located on the left handlebar. No pressure on the lever means that the clutch plates are engaged (driving), while pulling the lever back towards the rider will disengage the clutch plates, allowing the rider to shift gears.
